Lonely Planet Cork

Being alone in Cork, Ireland is almost impossible. Many pubs and hotels offer the first time visitor a great place to hang out, meet people and have slashed their prices to accomodate bargain breaks. Unlike the Irish Capital, Dublin, Cork City isn't overpopulated and still has much of the culture and charm of the Old Republic. Cork people will often describe their city as an old glove that fits well. It is a small compact city, easy to get around, with everything of noteable interest within walking distance.
